Assistant Professor in Economics, tenure-track
Department of Economics, Faculty of Economics at the University of Economics in Prague is seeking candidates for an Assistant Professor position in Economics, starting in September 2020. Candidates with expertise in the following fields are especially welcome to apply: Microeconomics (Theory, Experimental), Law and Economics, Labor Economics, and Macroeconomics. Preference is given to candidates with previous experience and own established research agenda. Knowledge of Czech is not required.
The appointment is for 3 years, with an option for a 3-year renewal subject to satisfactory performance, and an option for a tenured contract after 6 years, subject to high-quality publication and teaching record. Teaching load is three 1,5 h classes per week (26 weeks p.a.). The salary is 18,000 EUR p.a. *after-tax* with performance bonuses that may even double the base-rate. We also provide subsidized housing in the university premises (2-bedroom apartment). Members of the department have published in leading journals including the Management Science, the Review of Economics and Statistics, and the Journal of Public Economics. There is a tradition of organizing own internal and external research seminars, and of a close cooperation with other research institutions in the Czech Republic and abroad.
The candidates should hold a PhD degree or be on track to complete the PhD degree by December 2020.
